Sadly in the UK, 15 babies die each day before, during or shortly after birth, that is an average of one baby every 90 minutes. While many of us are aware of stillbirth and neonatal death, it still remains a taboo subject with people often unsure of what to say or how to behave around those who have experienced it leading to the parents in the heartbreaking situation feeling isolated.
The Sands National Helpline provides a safe, confidential place for anyone who has been affected by the death of a baby. Whether your baby died long ago or recently, we are here for you. The Helpline team are there to listen and give support, and can advise you about finding local help, whether from a Sands group or other counselling services, or information about other relevant support organisations The telephone helpline is free to call from landlines and mobiles on 0808 164 3332. The helpline team can also be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
