Mental health can affect any of us at any time. Globally, approximately 450 million people suffer from some form of mental illness and although there are many channels of help available, nearly two-thirds of people with a known mental disorder never seek help from a health professional and suffer alone.
This year’s World Mental Health Day is 10th October 2018. Recognised in over 100 countries around the world, the day provides a great platform to encourage support, raise awareness and provide global mental health education
The theme for 2018 is ‘Young people and mental health in a changing world’. Much can be done to help build mental resilience from an early age to help prevent mental distress and illness among adolescents and young adults.
